Frank Zummo has already an impressive career as a drummer, being only 27. Zummo is a working musician so drumming isn't limited to just being in a band. Currently his two main focuses are Los Angeles-based, Street Drum Corps, and drumming in theStart whose current album is out through The Offspring's label, Nitro.

In April 2004, the Street Drum Corps was started by Frank Zummo, Bobby Alt (from the band S.T.U.N., Faculty X) and his brother, Adam Alt (from the band Circus Minor). Street Drum Corps is an extension of this eco-friendly collective who uses instruments not made of wood but of recycled aluminum and plastic materials.

The members (including Zummo) are environmentalists and vegetarians. Street Drum Corps is sponsored by Draven, Hurley, Monster Energy, Protection Racket, Modern Drummer Magazine, Wahoo's Fish Taco, Ahead Drumsticks, and PETA.

Street Drum Corps holds a summer and fall residency at Six Flags Magic Mountain Theme Park in Los Angeles. SDC has also performed at Universal Studios Hollywood.

SDC performed at all California and Arizona Warped Tour 2005 Shows. SDC also performed at House Of Blues for the Warped Tour Kick Off Party in Los Angeles, CA. Street Drum Corps recorded a cover of John Lennon's "Happy Christmas (War Is Over)" with Bert McCracken of The Used on vocals. The song will be out for the 2005 holidays. Street Drum Corps toured with The Used for their Fall 2005 tour. Catch SDC on the Taste Of Chaos Tour in 2006. Their Debut CD/DVD will be out early 2006 on Warcon Records.

Frank Zummo's other passion is performing in bands and he currently drums for theStart whose record, Initiation, came out in August 2004 on Nitro. Tour dates can be found on the band's website,

Zummo had to to bow out of a few of the 2004 tour dates because of Street Drum Corps commitments and Adrian Young from No Doubt filed in for him, Not a bad substitute! theStart features former Snot drummer, Jamie Miller on Guitar. (Snot released Get Some album through Geffen in 1997.)

Frank Zummo has been written up in Modern Drummer and DRUM! Magazines.

Around the age of 3, Frank Zummo discovered his father's drumset and by the age of 7 he won the Long Island Drum Center's "Battle of the Beats." From then on, Zummo has always juggled a myriad of drumming projects.

Frank played on and off from 1996-2004 with the top rated, top 40 Omni Pop Talent Agency NY cover band "The Zoo" who won MTV's ultimate cover band prizewinners. Zummo toured all over the east coast in The Zoo who was sponsored by Coors Light. The Zoo was featured in 2 commercials that aired on MTV, VH1 and E in the tristate (NY/NJ/CT) area.

In 2000, Zummo started his first drum show company called "Re-Percussion" and performed at Hershey Park in PA and Lake Compounce in CT. He also performed in the "MS Westerdam Orchestra" aboard Holland America Cruise Line, sailing from Vancouver BC to Alaska.

In 2001, the NY power metal group, Virgin Steele, asked Zummo to tour Europe. Impressed, Virgin Steele asked him to drum on their CD The Book Of Burning, which was released worldwide in 2002 through Modern Music/Sanctuary Records.

Originally from the NYC metropolitan area, Frank Zummo moved to Los Angeles in February 2004, which is when he started Street Drum Corps and in the fall of 2004, he was asked to join theStart.
