Michael Licata

Michael Licata has been a force in the entertainment industry for over 20 years. As a drummer, writer, producer and musical director, he has been involved and responsible for multi-million dollar projects for major recording artists including Chris Brown, Ricky Martin, Ringo Starr, Rodney Jerkins, Jermaine Stewart, Lil' Wayne, T-Pain, Savage Garden, Rihanna, Bang Tango and many others. Has been onstage in jam sessions with John Corabi (Motley Crew), Dizzy Reed (Guns and Roses), Prescott Niles (The Knack), Matthew Nelson (Nelson), Howie Simon (Alcatrazz), and most recently with legendary guitarist Albert Lee.

Michael has performed in internationally recognized music videos, on prestigious concert stages and has been awarded 12 Gold/Platinum records. Licata's style is often compared to Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Kenny Aronoff (session great) or Phil Rudd (AC/DC).

Known for his powerful style, solid groove and effortless ability to lock with the click, Michael has provided the foundation that’s kept many million-selling performers in their comfort zone.

Along with his busy performing schedule, Michael was an Executive Producer and Partner for the Film/TV production company "Red Monkey Pictures" from 2006-2009. Past clients of Red Monkey include Michael Jackson, Prince, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Pink Floyd, Snoop Dogg, Tina Turner and many more. Michael led the sales effort at Red Monkey Pictures, billing over one million dollars in 2007 through 2008.

Most recently, Michael has branched out on his own to form "Licata Productions Inc." LPI recently launched in 2009 with 4 feature films, 2 television shows and various music projects all in development/production.
