Third Time’s A Charm For The Street
Drum Corps
Group to Perform for the
Third Consecutive Year at the 2007 Warped Tour, New Album Also in the
Works
Things just couldn’t get
any better for the Street Drum Corps. Not only are they currently in the
studio working on the follow up to their break-out, self-titled debut
,which is slated for a late summer release, but they’ve also recently
been inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame’s “Warped Tour
Exhibit.” And now, the three-piece drumming outfit may have just
received the best news yet. That they will, once again, be a featured
performer at the 2007 Warped Tour.
“The past few months have
been amazing,” said Frank Zummo of SDC. “Our new material is some of the
best we’ve ever done and we’re excited to be able to showcase it at the
very place where we got our start.”
The Street Drum Corps were
“discovered” at The Warped Tour when the tour’s founder Kevin Lyman
spotted their over-the-top performance and dubbed them “Punk rock
STOMP,” a name that has stuck with them ever since. Members Frank Zummo,
Bobby Alt and Adam Alt, who were regulars on the tour, gained fans one
city at a time and found themselves sharing the stage with such artists
as Bad Religion, Matisyahu, 30 Seconds To Mars, Bouncing Souls, and The
Used. This year, SDC will be performing alongside Sum 41, Pennywise and
New Found Glory and promise to have a few surprises for this year’s
fans. In fact, the band will be performing three times a day in the Mix
Tent Stage.
“This year marks our first
full tour with Warped,” said Bobby Alt of SDC. “And this year, we are
pulling out the stops with new songs and even a few special guest
appearances that will have everyone talking.”
In addition to the Warped
Tour and the new album, SDC also has a live show in Las Vegas in the
works and will join The Used on the Rockstar “Get a Life Tour,” which
runs from September 1 through late October.
