Growing up in the 80s and early 90s in Los Angeles CA , Marky was no stranger to the world of rock music via the sunset strip scene. Taking a huge interest in music at a young age, it wasn’t until he was 18 that Marky found his passion and got his start as a drummer in his first band playing backyard parties and local shows. Progressing and growing as both a drummer, and a songwriter, he is now the backbone and key member to the highly anticipated new band VANITY XO. Having sold out ALL of their first round of shows including The Key Club, Knitting factory and House of blues, The band is currently touring the U.S. and playing summer festivals including 2009 Rocklahoma. Creating such a hype and interest from fans all around the world via myspace, the band has also been featured on 97.1 fm's, Frosty heidi and frank show. The hosts quote "I cant believe this band isnt already signed ".
With Major and indie labels all in talks with the band and catching the interest of world renowned producer Roy Thomas Baker (queen, journey, ozzy osbourne etc.) big things are ahead for Marky and Vanity XO. Catch Marky and Vanity XO touring nationwide now and worldwide in 2010. Marky exclusively plays AHEAD drumsticks.
